Message from the Commisioner of Labor

The Employees’ Provident Fund, which was established in 1958, as a retirement benefit scheme for the employees of the corporate and private sector is the largest fund with an asset base of over Rs. 400 bn. The fund maintains 10mn member accounts with 2mn currently contributing members. With the aim of increasing the awareness of all its stakeholders, the EPF has developed a website in all three languages.

This website contains comprehensive information for employers and members to carry out their functionalities conveniently. Facilities for the members to obtain all necessary forms for EPF purposes are provided by the site reducing the hassle for its stakeholders of visiting EPF offices. I believe that the information provided by the website will help the members to understand on how to maintain their accounts in the proper manner so that there will not be any complications at refunding of funds.

I wish to thank all the staff of the Employees’ Provident Fund and Infocraft Ltd. who contributed to make this website a reality and I hope that it will be a success.

Mr. W.D.S.C. Weliwatte
Labour Commissioner (EPF)
